The Spring Festival is a cultural symbol shared by the Chinese nation and also a window for the world to perceive China. At the end of the Year of the Dragon, “The Spring Festival: The Chinese Practice of Celebrating the Traditional New Year” was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, fully demonstrating the global value of Chinese civilization. As the Spring Festival approaches, the holding of the “Harmony of Heaven, Earth and Mankind-Photographic Art Exhibition of ‘Aerospace and Antarctica’” in Tokyo, Japan, meets the practical needs of the times. With “aerospace” and “Antarctica” as carriers, it promotes the common values of all mankind, including peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy, and freedom, facilitates mutual understanding and amity between the people of China and Japan, and advances exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. The exhibition displayed the working scenes of Liu Yang, China's first female astronaut, a deputy to the National People’s Congress, a heroic astronaut, and the public welfare image ambassador for China’s space program, in the Chinese space station, along with a series of her photographic works. Additionally, photographic works taken in Antarctica by Wang Baosheng, the president of China Culture Figures Magazine and an adjunct professor at the International Sinology Research Center of Shandong University, were also on display.
A series of photographic works taken by Liu Yang, China’s first female astronaut, at the Chinese Space Station showcase the spiritual outlook of humanity’s exploration of the universe and pursuit of dreams in the vast sky. They vividly illustrate that mankind is a community with a shared future. Space is the common wealth of all humanity. At present, humanity faces an increasing number of common challenges. Only by peacefully utilizing space can we take good care of our common home.
The photographic works of Wang Baosheng, the president of China Culture Figures Magazine, taken in Antarctica, focus on the glaciers, snow-capped mountains, ecological environment, and human activities in Antarctica from a unique perspective. With simple emotions and vivid language of light and shadow, these works artistically represent that humans live in the same global village, and the safety of Antarctica is related to the interests of all countries and the future of humanity. We should adhere to the concept of harmonious co-existence between humanity and nature, hold nature in awe, respect nature, adapt to nature, and protect nature, so as to jointly safeguard our irreplaceable global home.
The photographic artworks on display this time have been exhibited successively at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing, China World Hotel, the venue of the 2024 Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference, the China (Hainan) Museum of The South China Sea, the CNSC Art Museum (Sanya), and other places. They have also been collected by institutions such as the National Art Museum of China and the China (Hainan) Museum of The South China Sea.
On the evening of the 25th, the “2025 Spring Festival Gala for All Overseas Chinese in Japan” will also be held simultaneously.
